GoTweed.com.au (formerly TweedHeadsDirectory.com) is an information, community and business directory and noticeboard put together by Akram Hindi and Jane O'Shea. We've changed a bit since starting but our site continues to be a work in progress as we add more! New features, events, info, businesses and organizations.

All our listings get automatic registration for the Noticeboard - where you can still post notices,advertisements,events,specials,garage sales and practically anything else you can think of for free. The directory gives organizations and businesses a listing of their details and includes an image to add color and life to their online presence. Being very inexpensive (FREE or by $80/year for a Featured Listing), our listings are a great introduction for any business or organization to gain an effective webspace - we emphasize effective because their is strength in numbers and you will not necessarily need to build a full-on website (although we can do that for you too).
As you probably know, more and more people are only dealing with businesses that have an online presence and will often not consider a business that does not. Having a web presence gives your customers another dimension to build their picture of you.
As well as that, to be found today (see more below about this) a business needs to be online when consumers search. Paper based directories are falling out of favour as the preferred means of finding a business or service.

The effectiveness of GoTweed comes from it's ability to provide a central point of contact to serve the Tweed community "strength in numbers" and therefore ensure an increased chance of being found online for ALL those who get involved in the Directory and Noticeboard whether they have a website or not. This takes much of the effort out of trying to "get found online" which can be a very time-consuming undertaking for those businesses and services with a website and for those without one. We do however, encourage businesses to take up all opportunities to list online as this increases your visibility online.
We also cover surrounding districts of Tweed Heads and businesses unique to this area are highly encouraged to apply.
WE DON'T CHARGE for a basic listing but encourage businesses to GO4 a Featured (only $80/yr) Listing. You decide what you want but rest assured we are grateful for your support and will continue our work in the area.
We are still growing but in the past we have used some of our funds for donations to St.Joseph's primary school and will endeavour to keep up this community approach as GoTweed.com.au believes we ought to give something back to the community. Charities and Not-For-Profit organizations will never have to pay to list on our site.
Even if you are from the Gold Coast or from as far South as Byron Bay, if you service the area (for example, as a specialist trade) or think you have a case to say you are relevant to this area we'll be happy to register and provide your online presence for Tweed Heads. What comes with a listing?
After supplying us with a logo/trademark or what some call your market identity* (a business card that carries your logo or trademark is good enough) you will recieve a webspace on this site - for a lot of businesses who are testing the waters on the internet, this is a good way to start without having to pay for a fully-fledged website as it gives you strength in numbers as opposed to an online brochure that sits on its lonesome and which you have to continually direct people to yourself - more work and time you dont have!
You know your business best so we find out what you'd like visitors to know about you when they are searching especially what first impression sums you up best. If you already have a website, the image we provide your business will be a link to it. If you don't have a website, no drama! your listing can, for now, be your webspace where others can find you. If down the track you decide you want more, we can provide a reasonable site for you which will be linked to GoTweed.com.au. Hosting for this is currently $10/month which pays for the servers which run your site practically 24/7 (99.9%uptime). See below.
